The snarky meme by lefties "Oh, yeah, thoughts and prayers will certainly solve this problem" is a frequent smear tactic.
That they denigrate Thought and Prayer tells us everything about the left.
Thoughts.
Or if you will, Cogitation. Rumination. Analysis. Learning. Openness. Sympathy. Rationality.
These are aspects of thought.
Sending "thoughts" to a victim or community suffering from tragedy is the penultimate gift in the heirarchy of giving. Because thoughts begin the process of taking positive action. Thoughts begin the examination of cause and effect, in order to seek prescriptive measures.
Emoting without thought is merely venting and hand-wringing.
Shootings, tornados, floods, hurricanes, forest fires, war, crashes, broken families, crime - we need less thoughts about these events or more? The answer is obviously more. Lots and lots. Examination and study and empathy.
What makes the liberal mindset snap at expressions of communal thought during or after a crisis?
Why does thinking frighten and offend them? Now there's a question! Their mockery betrays their agenda.
Shutting down thought (brain function) is a means of brainwashing. Only "higher authorities" or "experts" should be thinking. We plebes lack the expertise, and therefore the agency, to do any thinking. And more to the point, to take action.
And who in this circular logic would those higher authorities be? Ah yes, yes, yes. The very masters of the universe who deign to control our lives - the liberals.
No wonder they kneejerk against "thoughts" during a crisis. Because you never waste a crisis to further restrict, outlaw, and destroy freedom. If there was the death penalty for jaywalking, no need to think! Just obey and you get to subsist another day, comrade. Zero pedestrian crime. Job done. Next problem?
Prayers.
I said thinking was the penultimate gift. Then the ultimate gift is surely prayer.
Prayers - whether to God - or as an expression of unity, is profound to like-minded people. It portends actions as well as thoughts. Prayers demonstrate profound oneness with those suffering. It needs to be stated, so that those caught up in tragedy know others will support them.
Because prayers show what is most valuable to the prayed-for, and that is love.
If meant truthfully and honestly, prayers are the foundation upon which salvage and rescue and solutions arise. It all starts with sinking in that first pillar of values, by prayer. No person who understands prayer - and that seems not to include snippy liberals - would besmirch that fundamental statement of togetherness and hope.
If despair is all one has, then life has no purpose. Throw in the towel. Quit.
But that is singularly un-American and un-caring. Quitting is a defeatist mentality by definition.
So why is praying anathema to liberals?
Because praying people are dangerous to liberals, in that they look within themselves in concert with others and with the Divine to redress hardships.
Self-sufficiency and neighborliness is not what liberals want.
They succeed in oppressing individualism when we quit, and throw up our hands for a central authority to "take care of us". This resignation and dependency leads to inhumanity as it always has in human history. Aggregation of power leads to tyranny, always. It always results in greater tragedy - and even organized, mechanized, and intentional horror.
Dictatorship is a monopoly, centralized by force under the false aegis of secular expertise. No need to pray.
On the other hand thoughts and prayers result in helping from within ourselves and our fellow citizens. One by one. Each by his or her unique talents, capacity to give, and commitment to sustain the assistance. It is the mnost powerful force humans have: their time and treasure. This love is joyful and voluntary. It emanates from the heart and soul. From our very nature as free people.
If my home is blown off its foundation and I have no food, clothing, or shelter, please send me your thoughts and prayers.
Because real American patriots will act on those expressions more effectively and swiftly than anything out of DC.
It has always been so. Let it be that way forever.
