The Washington DC Bubble burst wide open today with a sickening ceremony to congratulate itself on "doing its job to uphold the Constitution", and to ironically award Capitol Hill Police hundreds of Congressional Gold Medals.
Frankly, I want to puke.
The warbling and the exaggerations of “bravery” are so over the top, as McConnell, then Schumer, then Pelosi got up to the microphone in the Rotunda and bloviated about how the police “saved the nation” (McConnell’s words).
It wasn’t Iwo Jima Marines, 9-11 Firemen, B-52 crew over Haiphong Harbor, or D-Day Omaha Beach Army. No, these cops corralled and arrested the functional equivalent of over-excited college football fans who broke into the dean’s office on campus. (And in some cases were escorted into The Capitol with doors held open by the police.)
Not a single cop was killed by the Jan 6 trespassers. In fact, the trespassers carried no firearms. The only death in the melee was one of the protestors, a female USAF veteran.
Her killer cop – (aren't females a protected minority class?) who has a prior disciplinary record of mishandling guns – probably received one of the hundreds of Congressional Gold Medals today.
They took down "dangerous insurrectionists" like the bare-chested dancing guy with the Viking horn hat. There was no plan. It was an idiotic spontaneous trespass. Fine, pay a fine, and go home. There was no vandalism. Nothing burned down. Nobody targeted. A huge ho-hum, except for the mismanagement by the Capitol PD and Nancy Pelosi - their boss.
How did Viking Guy get into the Capitol Building if the cops were so brave and doing their jobs? Why did Pelosi ignore Trump’s offer to provide National Guard back-up prior to Jan 6? Did they actually desire this trespassing? So many unanswered questions that the high and mighty “House Jan 6 Committee” totally ignored. And now are busy deleting, editing, and redacting contra-evidence before the R’s take over the House. The Jan 6 Committee wasn't interested in truth.
It's telling that Democrats never said jack squat about actual armed violence and arson against government targets (federal courthouses, police departments, college campuses) perpetrated by Lefties for the last several years.

It's the Democrats that pushed the national "De-Fund The Cops" movement, denigrating and depriving communities of the very kinds of cops they lauded today. But the difference is the DC cops are THEIR cops, and the Capitol is THEIR neighborhood. To hell with the rest of us plebes.
It's telling that Democrats stage-managed a second Trump impeachment over Jan 6 - even after he was no longer in office! And set up an absurdly tragic State Funeral for a cop who died of a stroke the day after Jan 6, not related to it. But the narrative needed a dead cop, so Officer Brian Sicknick's casket was rolled in to complete the farce.
Where are the Congressional Gold Medals for the cops who died or were maimed in the Antifa and BLM insurrection violence? (You know, actual violence.)
Where are the Congressional Gold Medals for the Border agents who have died or been injured patrolling the Southern border, while Biden deliberately allowed an estimated 5 million illegals to enter the United States, along with human traffickers, fentanyl drugs, and violent gangbangers?
Why haven't those medals been minted?
The fact that Kevin McCarthy and Mitch McConnell cooperated with this sham awards ceremony just goes to show what kind of latex resistance we can expect next year. We needed a wave election to clear out the swamp. Instead we got a trickle.
Why? Too many citizens are content US government check-cashers, and don’t care. We are screwed by an anesthetized and complacent populace.
Coming up Progessive dingbatery like: “reasonable” gun laws, dreamer immigration sell-out, student debt forgiveness "compromise", and – yes – plans to phase out gasoline under the Clean Air Act which gives the EPA exactly that power in black and white.
We are ruled by suburban bonbon-eating Oprahs mailing in their ballots, not self-sufficient people living within their means.
So the tipping point has been reached, and we celebrate cops who largely did nothing brave. Because it sounds good. It fits the crackpot Progressive narrative that the nation was teetering between dictatorship and democracy on Jan 6.
Which is insane to every thinking person except for the Kool-Aid Drinkers in The DC Bubble.
