So the Biden administration and the woke US Department of Education want to withhold funding from schools and organizations which teach archery, hunting, and marksmanship programs.
Tragic.
The official line is a load of babble about not "teaching" children about "dangerous weapons" and violent activities. The ridiculous decision is claimed to be based on the Safer Communities Act passed by Congress in the wake of school shootings!
Of course it's an intentional misreading and high-handed Orwellian speak.
Archery and guns are used in the Olympic competition.
Archery and guns are no more dangerous than cars, bikes, swimming, or riding horses.
Archery and guns can be used to teach responsibility as children mature into adulthood.
Dangerous objects include cooking implements, pillows, electricity, camp fires, and scuba gear. Are we going to ban education about and use of those inanimate things too? Children will have to learn responsible use of these and more.
You can kill or maim with a baseball bat, hockey stick, or karate. We going to cut off hands and feet too?
There is a Second Amendment. There is a United States military. There are animal populations which every state in America culls by licensed hunting for the health and safety of both animals and humans!
How misbegotten can DC and the White House be? How out of touch with rural Americans and outdoor living?
The US goverment has had a Civilian Marksmanship Program ever since the World War, not for fun. But to develop preparedness of the willing portion of the populace which wishes to voluntarily learn to use military arms. And to demonstrate compentency in tournaments as modern "minutemen" able to enlist or volunteer in case of national emergencies with safe and accurate shooting skills.
Now more than ever young people need to learn respect and proper use of hunting and self-defense tools. Schools and colleges have a long history in the United States of team shooting sports and technical education therof.
Many of us grew up in communities where lawful armed citizens were (and still are) a socially positive buffer against potential chaos. Men and women who have the means to defend their homes and their country. Men and women who can fend off attacks, rabid animals, and hunt for food as needed.
We were not (and are not) afraid of such people. We don't fret about good armed citizens who are exercising their rights as free Americans. They are no threat to anybody. At all.
Except to Biden and his goons at the US Department of Education. DC is threatened by Americans with power in their hands, able to defend their families, to safely navigate the natural world, to compete in sporting events with like-minded Americans and Olympians, and to acquire game for meals.
Degradation of self-sufficiency is the real object of the funding ban. More suppresion of empowered and proficient Americans.
The anti-educators want us dependent, dumb, disarmed, afraid, and submissive to their creeping Marxist totalitarianism.
Memo from Fly Over Country to our putative overlords: We have always trained our sons and daughters to be strong and independent. And that will continue whether or not you remit our tax revenues to our schools for archery, marksmanship, and hunting programs.
Nothing will stop ethical and moral Americans from educating their children in the ways of liberty.
