George Pardos from Veterans Radio Syndicate

Hey there, Ohioans! Welcome back to another episode of Common Sense Ohio! We've got a special treat for you today - a true American hero joining us in the studio.

George Pardos. This man's story is an absolute inspiration. From representing our Marine Corps at the Olympic Trials to founding the Veteran Radio Syndicate, George's journey is nothing short of remarkable.

It was fascinating to hear about his experiences growing up in Westland (west-side Columbus, OH), and how his passion for wrestling ultimately led him to the Marines. The influence of decorated Marine wrestler Greg Gibson left an indelible mark on him. His journey took him to the Olympic Trials in '88, and we can't help but be in awe of his dedication and talent.

But George's impact goes beyond the wrestling mat. Reflecting on the cultural and political events of the '80s, he shared some profound insights about the era that shaped him. We also learned about his family's business background and the deeply personal reasons behind his decision to join the Marine Corps.

The work George is doing with the Veteran Radio Syndicate is truly moving. Providing a platform for veterans to share their stories and connect with support groups is invaluable. Plus, the syndicate's initiatives, such as supporting veterans in crisis situations and arranging camaraderie-building activities, are making a tangible difference in the lives of our servicemen and women.

It was eye-opening to hear George discuss the challenges veterans face and the support systems needed, especially in addressing mental health. The need for a safe space for veterans to open up is something we can all rally behind.

As we wrapped up our conversation, it became clear that there's so much more to George's story - and so much more to uncover. We're truly honored to have had him on the show, and we can't wait to welcome him back in the future.

Till next time, Ohio, keep sharing the love and spreading the wisdom! And don't forget to check out the Common Sense Ohio website for past episodes and more engaging content.
