RINOs Taft & Kasich Embarrass Ohio & Themselves
Former Ohio GOP governors Bob Taft and John Kasich have disgraced themselves.
As Republicans in name only, they have every right to endorse and vote for whomever they wish. That's fine.
It's also fine for me to condemn their choices. I have that right and I'm exercising it now.
Kasich went off the rails years ago. Once a Fox News host, he careened sharply to the Left and refused to act graciously as host of the GOP Convention in Cleveland in 2016. Even Coleman Young, Democrat mayor of Detroit, welcomed the GOP to Michigan for Ronald Reagan’s convention in 1980. But Kasich, a shrill self-absorbed baby, couldn't overcome his personal grudge against Donald Trump to suck it up and act like an adult in charge of Ohio. Just like the donkey he really is.
Now - of course - Kasich once again wants us to know he's not voting for Trump in 2024. Good God. Enough, John. Go back to screwing people on Wall Street or whatever you do for money these days.
Then there's Peace-Corp-during-Vietnam Bob Taft, son of "Mr. Republican" himself and great-grandson of the President from the same family. He has bravely announced his endorsement of Democrat Senator Sherrod Brown over GOP challenger Bernie Moreno.
Supposedly because his buddy Sherrod has served 25 years (that's a good thing?) and has brought Wright-Pat bacon back to Ohio. So pork for the home state would not have happened but for Sherrod Brown? That's idiotic. Like John Glenn, Mike DeWine, Rob Portman, Howard Metzenbaum, and George Voinovich as US senators of the past didn't? And Bernie Moreno wouldn't?
No.
It's just as old bitter men, Kasich and Taft are looking for ways to be novel and "show them" that they are somehow independent thinkers. That's a laugh.
What it shows is they are untethered to conservative philosophy, to solid values, of their claims to be Republican. They should go travel with Liz Cheney and tubthump for Commie-La, having sold themselves out.
How can Republicans endorse Democrats who gave us open borders, rocketing inflation, choking off petroleum energy, bumbling into three wars, forgiving loans to college-goers, free sex change operations, forcing men into girls' sports and locker rooms, and stamping on Americans' rights to free speech and assembly?
These two former Ohio governors are not only deluded angry old men, they are placing their egos over the interests of the good people of Ohio. Shame on them.
